2 Sides of an Allergy Success Story

The Patient:

My name is Kerry and I am 9 years old. I have been allergic to milk all my life. When I came to Debra I found that I was allergic not just to milk, but to vitamins, foods, and things in the air such as pollen and grass. When I eat something I am allergic too, I break out in rashes which itch. If I scratch them, they bleed and I don't like that. I also get stomach aches. I came to Debra because I didn't feel good taking the steroid cream and pills my doctor gave me.

For my first treatment, I had a very hard time. It took 4 tries to get just one allergy (egg) away from me. I have to stay away from the allergen for at least 18 hours, and that can be hard. The treatments also make me very tired, and sometimes I get grumpy. But sometimes, it is easy. For example, I was allergic to banana. It was not hard to stay away from bananas because I was not allowed to eat them anyway.

Once I started getting rid of my allergies I felt much better. My rashes started clearing and I no longer have stomach aches. My body feels much better. Now, I am not allergic to so many things anymore, but I am still working hard to make my body clear and healthy.

The Patient's Mom:

I do not believe in colic. I have not for 9 1/2 years…since my daughter was born. From the 2nd week of her life, her tiny little body cried in pain each evening due to a rash covering most of her tiny body and her stomach contorting. It typically lasted at least 5 hours…starting around 4:00 and not subsiding until after 10:00 pm. Doctors told me it was colic and would go away. I did not believe them then, and I do not believe in colic now. There is a reason why one child cries while another sleeps peacefully.

After numerous starts and stops, I finally figured out that my daughter was allergic to almost every food group: eggs, bananas, tomatoes, oranges, cow's milk, soy mild, goat milk, baby formula, penicillin, the list went on. After a rigorous diet and breast feeding for 6 months, I found a hypo-allergenic formula hat we could special order that she could tolerate…and at last she stopped crying and slept through the night.

Nine years later, tired of allergy pills and steroid creams, fate led me to Debra MacIntyre's door. I brought my daughter to the first consultation, thinking that as it was her body, she had to be willing to do whatever Debra told us to do. Her final comment, after hearing about NAET treatments was, "I just want to eat a Banana." How could I refuse? (Do you know many people allergic to bananas?)

Well 5 months and 17 NAET treatments later, my daughter's skin looks beautiful. Her eyes are no longer swollen and sunken in her head. The backs of her legs do not look like she is covered in poison ivy. She does not scratch in her sleep. Her teachers have commented that she is not itching all day long and is better able to sit still. We still have many allergies to treat, but we have come a long way. It has not always been easy…her first few visits caused her to have such severe tantrums that I assumed all the neighbors heard her cries; she was also allergic to the remedies we tried and her reactions were severe. She still gets very grouchy and emotional the evening of a treatment, but by morning she is better.

But my daughter can eat bananas and drink orange juice and her skin looks beautiful. She is much more comfortable in her body. She told me she no longer gets stomach aches (something that had become such a way of life for her, I never even knew she had them.) I am very thankful to Debra MacIntyre for all she and her assistants have done for my daughter.

A friend asked why I did not do this sooner. My reply was "I didn't know about it."
